April 20, 200422 yr This has been bugging for awhile now, so I'll ask you experts. While flying over overcast conditions I get a 50% decrease in framerates for 3-5 seconds and then my framrates jump back up to 20. Which is where I got them locked. Clear skys I stay right at 20, partly cloudy I stay right at 20. I've decreased my settings and still the same thing. Is the computer drawing clouds out on the horizion?? It's not a big deal, but just thought I would ask.
April 20, 200422 yr That's exactly what's happening. Depending on how fast you fly, the clouds are drawn around the horizon every moment or two, which slows fps for a few secs. Of course, if you just flew the pattern it's always possible that you'd never notice this. The fps hit is minimized if you keep your cloud draw distance towards the lower end of the scale..-John
April 20, 200422 yr Author Yeah that's what I thought. I got my draw distance at 60 miles now I'll play with it and see what happens. Thanks for the quick reply John.
