Dumb Question: Panning in VC

Featured Replies

I have been trying to deal with an issue with The Vsync on my Radeon 9500Pro over in this thread on the hardware forum:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=1019&page=The latest is that I figured out that turning vsync to "always on" takes care of the tearing, but only if I am running FS9 full screen. I can't get rid of the tearing on in a window, and it's odd that I didn't have to keep vsync "always on" with the same card on my previous machine.I hate computers.Anyway, I have been starting at this thing all morning and I am having trouble figuring out if something else is a problem or not. When I pan the view in the VC with my joystick hat, things seem to ghost and blur a fair bit. I can't, for example, see the instruments clearly when panning. They sort of blur and get double images. Now, at first I thought this was a problem, but now I'm wondering if it's just the way it is. I can't remember how it was on my previous computer, and I am wondering if I have been looking at it too hard because of the problem with the vsync tearing.

I think it's just the way it is. I have an NVidia GeForce4 TI4200 and I've got the same thing. I haven't even turned on VSync yet..I just live with it. I have other issues too - like on buildings in the distance the textures seems to shimmer and move, like a barber pole. That's the worst problem I've got. I tried setting AF/AA on/off and at various levels, tried various resolutions...no luck. Eh, I can live it until I can pay off some debt and fly for real :)
