Highly detailed C-17 with working exits/rear door???

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! I just downloaded the Antonov 124 and 225, and I must say they are just about my most favorite aircraft in my library. The detail and working parts are simply amazing and you can really tell that a lot of time has gone through both those fine aircrafts. But not much could be said for the panels and virtual cockpit, but its understandable considering how much work went into those planes. My question to you all is this, do any of you know of a C-17 Globemaster III with detail as good as the Antonov aircrafts or any news on someone in the works of one for FS2004? If not does anyone know of any other aircraft with the same detail as the 124 and 225?? I have searched the internet for a highly detailed C-17 but to no avail, but I have come across a C-5 Galaxy with a working front loading door. I know of plenty fighter aircraft such as F-16s, F-14s, and F-18Es, but what my questions are focusing on are heavy cargo lifters (I have found one C-130 with fully working exits/rear door{pretty nice}). So if anyone knows of a C-17 or even any other aircraft please reply. Thanks ahead of time!!JamesHigh complements to the creators of the Antonov 124 and 225-Thomas Ruth and Alex Kvitta.P.S. If anyone has the Antonov 124 in their library, I have a separate question for you---Do you know how to operate the front loading door(key assignment)?? I've been trying to figure this out for the longest time.

Posky has a really awesome one... it probably is exactly what youre looking for. Was made for FS2002 but it sure should work in FS2004 as well.

Thanks for the reply, Posky C-17? Does that aircraft have working exits/rear door?? The one I downloaded didn't have a panel/vc and when you extended the spoilers the rear part of the engines would disappear. But other than that its a great aircraft. I have that in my library including some other paint schemes that other fellow pilots have done. Right now that's my current C-17, I just downloaded it the beginning of this week. I have always owned a copy of FS, except for FS2004 which I finally budgeted my money to where I was able to purchase a copy (poor college student) so as of right now I a pretty small library of downloaded aircraft but, like I said, that's the only C-17 I have. Thanks for the info, and if you can think of any other heavy lifters please let me know!!JamesBoise, ID

Unfortunatly there is no C-17 for FS9. Owen Hewitt(Posky FS2002 C-17 designer) started a version for FS9, but I believe that he ran into to some technical problems(not enough good references) and put it on the back burner so to speak. He is also now apart of the FSD Int'l Team now, so with the priorites of FSD, and I'm sure real life comitments, the C-17 is at the bottom of a long list of things to do. There has been quite a bit of interest from the flight sim community about the C-17. Owen, and other members at FSD have said they also would like to it finished. So we could see it at sometime or another. Though to the dismay of some, being from FSD it will probably be a payware offering if it is released. Though FSD has been known to toss out a freebie every once in awhile...

The C-17 is still indeed on the drawing board. I'm working on revising quite a bit of it, including a working rear ramp. It is going to be offered as giftware, which means that if you currently own one of our aircraft, it will be a bonus if desired.Best regards,Owen

Good news Owen !!!!
