slamming nose gear on landing?

Featured Replies

Anyone know which parameter to adjust within the aircraft.cfg that will allow the nose wheel to more gradually touchdown rather than slamming to the runway immediately upon touchdown? Thanks

Seat/Keyboard interface. If the nose is slamming you need to reconsider your landing speed, your aircraft configuration or the manner in which you wield the controls. What aircraft? What fuel load? What loadout? What speed and approach and landing configuration are you trying?Allcott

Also try not braking until your nose is down

Thanks, but i'm just experimenting with flight dynamics right now, no particular aircraft. I know there is an adjustable parameter inside the aircraft config. for this condition but I cannot remember which one(a scalar, etc??)

Sounds like your center of gravity is too far forward, or your gear Contact Points for the main gear are too far back. Is it hard to rotate off the ground on takeoff too?Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

No, not really. Looks like I will have to try adjusting different parameters and see if I can find the one that makes a difference. Thanks.
