Compass wrong

Featured Replies

Hi allI seem to have a strange MS problem. My compasses, both the magnetic and the gyro one, have a habit of pointing 180 degrees wrong, but not always. Sometimes, they are correct when I select a location, but suddenly turn a few minutes into the flight. Or they change when I change locations in the select airport menu. No difference if I select an American airport, or a European oneThey can be correct in one place, but if I go to a place only a few miles away, they can be wrong again.I have already checkd that my country settings, they are ok.But what is strange is that the behaviour of the compasses is so erratic.I use FS2002.Peter

Rename your fs2002.cfg to fs2002.OLD. Restart fs2002, let it stabilize, select settings, realism settings, and ensure gyro drift is deselected (OFF). Make other settings for the various items, then OK the settings. Start a flight and see if the problem is solved. There are two possibilities. One, you start FS2002 with a default flight that has gyro drift selected and also has a compass failure set. Two, your fs2002.cfg file is corrupted.W. Sieffert
