FSX 2D Cockpits In SLI Surround Mode

Featured Replies

I have been having this problem since going SLI. Even with the new Nvidia driver release, there seems to have been no improvement. I've searched around, and found people with similar problems, but no solutions. Perhaps my search terminology wasn't precise enough.

When I wish to fly an aircraft in FSX, and doesn't matter which one, and I want to use a 2D cockpit (some of my aircraft don't have a virtual cockpit) in surround mode across my three Acer 23" monitors, I am disappointed in the display .. or lack thereof. I get great graphics out the windshield, but where the 2D panel should be is a black unoccupied area. Add to that, an annoying flickering cursor ... thinking and hourglass .. that just does not go away. Have to restart FSX to get it to go away. Without a 2D cockpit, I am unable to fly some of my favourite aircraft. :-(

2D works no problem when isolated to just one monitor, but when spanned across the three in SLI surround ... nothing but disappointment.

Is anyone able to suggest, if any exist, a way to resolve this?

It's because of a bug in FSX that occurs when using a very high resolution, e.g. 3 screens like surround mode, triplehead2go or eyefinity. You have to resize your 2d panels to fix this. I'm surprised that you didn't find any solutions in your searches as this has been answered numerous times. Keep on searching or wait for someone better than me to post a link and this will all be good soon.

Thanks tolip. Now that I have a better idea what the problem is, I was able to select better search criteria to find posts aiming towards a solution. Thanks. That was all I needed was a push start.

Now, to see if it works.
