What addon creates the blurr behind jet engines?

Featured Replies

Just wondering where I could find the addon that creates the effect behind the jet engines where it looks like its blurred?thanks

Hi Jamie.I haven't heard of an ad-on that does this, if you've seen this in some pic postings, then the guy's have added it to the picture using photo shop or similar, but as I said, I haven't heard of anything like what you're asking about, but if you do, please let us all know about it,and where you got it from, cheers.Steve

Hi Jamie,This may be what you are looking for:ab_f16_.zip by Jan Rosenberg - (available here in the file library - I've checked)File includes, amongst other effects, custom jet engine start-up effect with three (or more) minutes of "heat" shimmer. This was primarily designed to work with Kirk Olsson's superb F-16 but, I assume could be made to work with other a/c.I use the effect with the F16 and the effect is very well done and is quite convincing.Mike

Most of my involvement with FS9 is repainting and I recall having seen this too. Since I do very few jets, it was an easy matter to track it down and I found it with Daisuke Yamamoto's F14 Tomcat. The "Add-On" you are looking for is probably the one for the F-16 that Mike mentioned but the Tomcat has multiple effects as well. During start-up, you will get a puff of smoke from each engine and a "heat" effect that last for a few seconds. In flight, there is an effect titled fx_F14_ControlledHeat that is turned on with the FS smoke feature, key "I", and initiates at throttle settings in excess of 10%.Hope what Mike and I have been able to provide helps out.Cheers!Heather
