June 8, 201213 yr Hi, I am currently flying a round-the-world tour using a B1900D in FS9. I have a long over-water leg coming up and there is no way I can make it using the existing fuel capacity. So I would like to simulate the installation of a ferry fuel tank by temporarily increasing the aircraft's fuel capacity to enable me to fly the leg. Does anyone know how I can do this? I have calculated estimated fuel consumption for all my legs so far and would like to avoid using the "unlimited fuel" option if at all possible. Thanks
June 8, 201213 yr Simple way: increase the capacity of the tanks in the aircraft.cfg. SDK: [fuel] ... LeftMain = long: -3.85 (feet), lat: -2.10, vert: 2.50, usable: 46.0 (gallons), increase this number with what you need. unusable: 0.00 etc ... Realistic way: Install new tanks, like: Center1 Center2 Center3 LeftMain LeftAux LeftTip RightMain RightAux RightTip External1 External2 Add fuelselectors and a good fuel panel. You 'll need some xml skill to program that. Jan "Beatus ille qui procul negotiis..."
June 9, 201213 yr Author Thanks! I have managed to add an additional fuel tank. I realised that FS only recognises the defined tank names you mentioned above so it was pretty simple to edit the aircraft.cfg file in the end. A bit of tinkering with the positioning so the C of G was correct and away we go. Many thanks.
