Shader model 3.0 mod trouble (help)

Featured Replies

Hi people Im having nightmares to reinstall/uninstall this mod so any help will be appreciated!

The point is that I know something went wrong so I decided to reinstall the above mentioned mod exe, with a final message telling me that: anoteher version of this product was already installed and I need first to uninstall it.

Ok..... but when I try to uninstall it it says: Source file not found :C\Windows\installer\disk1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can acces it.

So Im lost on how to proceed.

Thanks in advance

Hi Skkuda: The Shaders can be a nightmare for sure! However - don't panic.

1). Download the original ShadersHLSL folder from here , and then save it "somewhere".

2). Open up your FSX folder, find the ShadersHLSL folder and then delete it completely.

3). Unzip the downloaded ShadersHLSL and put it into the same place as the one you just deleted.

You then need to do two other things with the shaders:

1). As you've installed the V3.0 you should have a backup of your stock WaterConstants.xml. You need to put that one in place of the one used for Shaders3. If you don't have it - delete the one that's there now, download this one, unzip it and put it in the same place - i.e. the root folder of FSX - ok?

2). Lastly, you will need to delete the Shaders cache folder - Win7 - it should be in your C:\Users\(your _username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX. When you restart FSX it will automatically rebuild these cache folder and files.

Done - OK?
