May 17, 200422 yr I just ordered FS2002 PE as my pc cant handle 2004 and i cant afford to upgrade,is 2002 PE alot better then 2000? and how will my P3 800Mhz,256MB RAM handle 2002?Thanks everyone and keep up the good work with this site it's awesome.
May 17, 200422 yr Hi; Fs2002 is better than its predecessor for many reasons:- smoother performance(not to be confused entirely with frame rates)- clouds and weather are somewhat better- AI traffic and the ability with TTools and project AI (both freeware)to add your own traffic- many scenery addons (I live in B.C. Canada and Holger Sandmann has done an amazing job with B.C. scenery- Fewer bugs out of the box, and the ones that are there are nothing huge.- I could continue, but I know you'll be happy- I had a 800mhz chip at first and Fs2002 worked well- you might think about your video card though:-) I am still using Fs2002 primarily because I have so many addons that aren't compatable, and m Video card isn't DX9 compliant, so Altough I own Fs2004, some aspects don't work too well. Cheers!
May 17, 200422 yr I upgraded to DirectX 9 last week and my other games performance has picked up a bit so hopefully that will help. What are some of the best addons ever for FS2002? freeware preferably.
May 17, 200422 yr Hi :)Freeware: 1) Any of the planes by iFDG (www.ifdg.net), which includes A320s, A321s, MD-11s and soon .... A319s :) You can download them for free at Avsim :) Just search for iFDG.2) Any of the current aircraft by Project Opensky. (www.projectopensky.com). They recently released a 747-200, and they also have 747-400s, 767-300/400s, A330s, and CRJs. Soon for release: A340s and a CRJ-900. Search in the Avsim and Flightsim.com libraries as well :)3) SG Air (www.sgair.net). They have an awesome DC-10!!! They also have an A300B4-200 for FS2002, but their current aircraft (A300B4-600R) is only for FS2004 :( Search the Avsim and Flightsim.com libraries for "Stewart Global" or "Cantu" ... . Erick Cantu released several 737s and DC-9 aircraft last year. 4) The 747s and 777s by MelJet I'd recommend that you search in the Avsim library for these aircraft 5) Download the numerous fighter aircraft by Kazunori Ito :) You can find them at Flightsim.com6) The An-124 Ruslan and An-225 Mriya by Thomas Ruth (download from Avsim)There are lots of others *:-* Payware: 767 Pilot in Command (Very Detailed ... online purchase and download)I hope this helps! You can spend hours searching for hundreds of good freeware :( Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
May 18, 200422 yr I'm not sure why my recommendation of Ready for pushback was removed but I'll re post it .And I also agree with the other post; 767PIC is very detailed . Two other programmes written for FS2000 and patched for FS2002 are Phoenix software's 777-200 and 747-400 they are quality addons as well and are available cheap as a set now. If you like flying regional stuff, there is a FREEWARE Dash-8-300 package available. It's the whole deal complete with accurate sounds. Maybe someone can verify my spelling here- do search for Oleksiy Frolov? and you'll find this plane! Or better yet http://dash8.fscentre.com/ try this link! Cheers!
