Upon starting FSX today, I get an immediate message as follows:

 

" Flight Simulator cannot run because it could not write FSX.CFG."

 

I wonder if any of you have seen this before, and Thanks,

Try this possible fix - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-gaming/cant-open-microsoft-flight-simulator-x-with-out/e3dd9fc6-ea36-430a-8486-702f38c2381a. Are you running Windows 7? Another possible solution is to right-click the fsx.cfg, select Properties, and then uncheck 'Read Only'. Click Apply and then OK. Restart FSX.
