Eek! Eyepoint settings screwed up

Featured Replies

After going through massive PC and FS tweaking recently, I found a number of my customized and/or default FS9 settings had "fallen out" and needed to be re-set. I just discovered that the default FS9 cockpit eyepoint settings UP and DOWN do work, but they are now exaggerated and difficult to fly with in the 2-D cockpit view. So when I hit eyepoint down or eyepoint up just once, the movement of the eyepoint in the 2-D cockpit is about twice what it used to be. All eyepoint views in VC work fine. It's just the 2-D cockpit that is affected. Can anybody suggest a fix for this? Anything in FS9.cfg or whatever...?Appreciate help, thanks!JS

Find this section in your FS9.cfg file:(CONTROLS)KBDAIL=64KBDELEV=64KBDRUD=64PAN_RATE=400<---Adjust This NumberAnd change the PAN_RATE to a lower number.Lower PAN_RATE values = finer 2D up/down eyepoint increments, and higher values = coarser 2D up/down increments. However, what works well for the 2D cockpit eyepoint adjustments will have you turning your head (panning) like a man in a neck brace in the virtual cockpit!Best Regards,Douglas

Go figure!Actually, I can't take any credit for this tip, my better half figured it out some years ago with FS2002.Best Regards,Douglas

Hey, Doug, Sir Isaac Newton said the same thing: he said if he'd achieved greatness, it was only because he'd stood on the shoulders of others before him.!!JS
