FS9 `Stuttering`

Featured Replies

Hi,I have upgraded my computer to a Athlon 3.0 GHZ, a 512DDR Ram and aG force4 4600 graphics card and still get stuttering especially onthe ground and some in the air. I have checked dxdiag, direct X isfine so does anyone have any ideas of how I can resolve this. MyFPS is excellent as well and it is just this stuttering that isspoiling my sim experience. If you have any ideas how to resolve I would very much appreciatethem - ThanksJohn

Stuttering problems unfortunately seem to be the bane of the latest strain of nVidia drivers. I recommend viewing the Hard Discussion Forum, reading the conversations and seeing what seems to the best for your kit at the moment.

I had "stutter" problems as well.Recently tweaked my Win XP machine following the Tweak XP Guide found elsewhere on the forums. But I did not get rid of the stutters. Well, I did get rid of them by disabling the audio acceleration in the DX Diag panel, but that didn't help the overall audio quality on my computer. So I turned that back on. Then I decided to update my audio drivers. Rebooted. And no more stutters! :)

Mike...

I'm running the 61.12 betas. No stuttering problems here (other than when textures are loading at extrememly dense scenery areas like Toronto with the Flight Ontario scenery. Other than those instances though I have no stuttering whatsoever. Actually, I'm extremely pleased with the recent forceware drivers. I have a GF4Ti4200 btw...As far as the posters stuttering problems, make sure you have fairly up to date drivers and they are all properly/cleanly installed (for example, its important to use a driver cleaner before installing the recent forceware drivers apparently). If you use any peer to peer software (like kazaa) its possible you have some spyware/adware working behind the scenes and I've noticed that can cuase stuttering in games. Try running Spybot and Adaware and see if cleaning that off might help...
