June 3, 200422 yr Question: Often when installing a freeware panel with a virtual cockpit, I cannot get the Virtual Cockpit to show. Just a clear view ahead (and to the rear I might add), while the screen says "Virtual Cockpit" ... so I know I am in that view.I also just purchased ActiveCamera 2004 which works fine for the PMDG cockpits. Can't seem top figure out the others. The 2D panels in the same freeware work fine. Are there additional lines that should be entered in aircraft.cfg etc.? Regards,Paul RemisSan Luis Obispo, CA
June 3, 200422 yr Hmm... Are you sure that the aircraft comes with a virtual cockpit? When a plane doesn't have one modelled, the view is still available when you press S, but it's empty as you describe. It would help to know which plane you're having this problem with, too, e.g. filename, author, etc.Jon D.South of KSEA "No matter how eloquent you are or how solidly and firm you've built your case, you will never win in an argument with an idiot, for he is too stupid to recognize his own defeat." ~Anonymous.
June 3, 200422 yr Thanks Jon D. for your quick reply. This is the configuration which baffles me.Ken Mitchell's A320 panel into Jon Murchison's BAe 162 200. No VC views show up.Now there is the requirement that the panel_VC.cfg go into a "VC" aircraft. (Renamed of course panel.cfg)Could you explain that a little more fully to me.Thanks,Paul RemisKSBP
June 3, 200422 yr Okay, I see the problem. Ken's panel includes a configuration for virtual cockpit-equipped aircraft. The BAe aircraft, from what I can tell in the docs, is not equipped with a virtual cockpit. One thing you have to understand is a virtual cockpit is actually modelled into the plane itself, and file descriptions in libraries like Avsim's usually say whether or not the aircraft has a VC. Also, when in doubt, consult the documentation, which I've learned myself as it relates to my recent thread in this forum. ;)HTH! June 3, 200422 yr Got ... I'll try again with an eye for a "VC" equipped plane.Thanks,PaulPS. What do you think about my other post regarding sharing of AI timetables for those of us who just don't have the time?
