Prepar3D....would it run on THIS laptop?

Featured Replies

I need to buy a laptop for my office, and I was wondering if Prepar3D would run on it (with some sliders going right). i keep reading on these forums that Prepar3D is smoother, less in need of tweaking, and of course, the future of FSX.

I love FSX on my current home system (see specs), but I thought about buying Prepar3D for portable use.

Here's what I'm planning on buying:

Samsung Series 7, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, Intel 3rd generation Core, I7, 2.3 GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz), high definition widescreen LED (1600 x 900), 64 bit system.

$999 at Best Buy.

What do you think?

I think P3D will run just as er... 'well' as FSX will on that laptop: not too good. Some say P3D runs a bit better and some see no difference at all: whatever the difference is, it's not staggering. Looking at the Ghz of that CPU I wouldn't expect miracles. (BTW Does the laptop have dedicated GPU?)

Just as a rule of thumb. If it would run FSX, with its adaptive tweaks, it would run Prepar3d and vice versa. If its simply performance ones after, it aint FLIGHT in the performance realm!.....
