June 19, 200421 yr I'm getting an error when trying to download realtime weather saying "bad internet connection, check settings and configuration" or the like. This error message occurs instantaneously after selecting download real weather. There is no pause like it was pinging the site and checking connections.I also cannot download realtime weather for either AS2004 or FS Meteo, so the problem is probably the same. Active Sky give "unstable internet connection" error, and FSMeto gives "selected file not found" error. I've reinstalled all those programs, FS9, and deleted the FS9.cfg file and rebuilt it. Checked and turned off the firewall, checked internet settings, etc.I have 56k dialup, but as far as I can tell, the problem is not my internet connection. I never had this problem before. I've tried everything I can think of, and consulted Microsoft's FAQs and done their suggestions, but can find no problem. I can connect with mszone's site to check internet connectivity with Microsoft's weather server and that is okay. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful. This is driving me nuts.Keith
June 19, 200421 yr Author Try renaming fs9.cfg to fs9.old. Restart fs2004, let it stabilize, select the weather menu, and download weather. If it is corrected, delete fs9.old. If it is still corrupted, delete the new fs9.cfg and rename fs9.old to fs9.cfg.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
June 19, 200421 yr Yeah, I tried that already. It won't download the weather. It is as though no connection exists. Weird, huh? I wonder if, even though all seems well with all other internet connections (I mean I can do everything else, e-commerce, mail, this forum, etc), that there's something wrong with my modem? Keith
June 19, 200421 yr Author Right click IE Icon, select properties, Connections tab, and check your dial up settings. Do you have "Never dial a connection" checked? If so, try using one of the other settings to see if it corrects your problem.Have you tried to have your internet connection running, then start MSFS, check the weather?W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
