Install and uninstall FSX SP3

Featured Replies

Hi all

Made a huge mistake and installed the FSX SP3. The FS started up but after a few seconds when I was within the flightdeck

the screen went white.

I tried this a few times more and always the same problem

I then uninstalled SP3 and now it doesn't even start up properly anymore. I start it and before it goes into the flight,

FS stops with he MSG

Program has stopped working

Before I uninstall all and re install all (which is going to take me ages)

Any ideas what I can do to get it running again?

Thx Ian

FSX only has SP1 and SP2. There is no SP3.... Your signature indicates you have FSX Gold. FSX Gold includes everything. No SP's needed. Since you stated you installed SP3, did you install SP1 and SP2 too as that would cause you major problems. Look in your Add/Remove program and look for any installation of SP's. If none are there, then reinsert the FSX Gold disk and, when the options come up, select the Repair option. Since you had FSX Gold installed and then installed SP3 (probably you meant SP2), that overwrote Acceleration coding. When you uninstalled SP2, you probably uninstalled some important files related to Acceleration. The repair should work.

Best regards,

Jim
