August 30, 201213 yr Hi, im starting using the SbuilderX following video tutorials, im working in the scenery of my city Punta Arenas in Chile. My first problem: when I go to "go to position" and put the coordinates from punta arenas (53° 10′ 1″ S, 70° 56′ 1″ W) SbuilderX says "check your entries". Second when I put a coordinate that works I cant click on "show background". I tried to register in the fsdeveloper forum but it says for reasons of IP I cant. Sorry for my english.
August 30, 201213 yr I always input coordinates in Decimal Degrees, with a preceding minus sign for Western or Southern hemispheres. The math conversion can be quick to go from Degrees, Minutes, Seconds. Check the menu Edit | Preferences to see if the tick box is checked to use the satellite provider.
August 30, 201213 yr Author Many thanks i solved that problem but know I have another one. I made one in puerto williams but the image satelite from SbuilderX doesnt match with fsx.
August 31, 201213 yr Hola, You should not be surprised if the default terrain in FS is not accurate. Believe it or not, there are no accurate data sources for most of the world, and what is available is only an approximation of the real thing. Here is the airport and naval base with respect to the default terrain, just like you found: Since the colors and resolution of the image are not so great, my Tierra del Fuego project draws mostly vector terrain. You are free to do photo-real ground textures if you wish, but you will have to re-do the vector terrain anyway in those areas so as to eliminate the default, including any elevation values that will be applied to your photo-real water. Please see the following tutorials, available in the Avsim library, for more information: - Make photo-real ground textures in Flight Simulator X http://library.avsim...xsd&DLID=140539 - Terrain Design for Flight Simulator X http://library.avsim...hp?&DLID=141643 Best regards.
