Low end GPU for instruments

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm sure someone here must have experience of what I'm thinking of doing.

I have a pretty high end graphics setup (GTX580s) and need an extra card for purely 2D instrument output.

Will outputting an undocked intrument view to a screen running on a very low end card like a GT520 in any way affect the performance of the 3D views on my high-end cards?

thanks

Boris

If you have a Sandy or Ivy bridge PC - have you thought about using the onboard Intel 3000/4000 graphics for your instruments? On my rig you can run the onboard graphics and a discrete card at the same time and that way you can easily check any performance loss.

Just a thought.
