Highlights

Just Planes has released a new DVD which features Air Austral and thus far it has been a top seller. The DVD starts off with presentation on the various aircrafts operated by Air Austral along with a few scenic views of St.Denis Island.

The first flight takes us onboard the 777-300LR from St. Denis Island to Marseille France. This flight was packed with highlights that I am sure many of you will enjoy. For example, some points of interest are the preflight briefings, cockpit setup, discussions with the crew in-flight and stunning scenery on approach to Marseille.

The second leg takes us on a short trip over to Toulouse where we hop onboard the 777-200LR for our return flight to St.Denis Island. During the return trip to St.Denis, some of the highlights you might enjoy are the cabin service presentations, deviation from bad weather, insightful discussions with the captain on the 777 and a visually stunning approach to St.Denis.

Before jumping into the next segment of this DVD, you will have an opportunity to learn more about this airline through presentations by the founder of the airline, Communications Manager and the 777 Chief Pilot. These presentations were insightful and it will give you a better sense of what this airline is really about.

The final segment of this DVD features the 737-800 on flights to Dzaoudzi, Majunga, Moroni and St.Denis. At this point you might think that if you have seen one 737-800 video you have seen them all, but I can assure you that this DVD has perhaps the best 737-800 presentation yet.

Some of the highlights you can look forward to are the wing view segments, walk around, cockpit presentations, SATCOM presentation and very scenic views from the cockpit during each flight. By far the most significant highlight of this segment and the entire DVD is the fact that Just Planes filmed these flights with 5 cameras! This gives an in-depth perspective and the perfect vantage point to the viewers and I think you will really appreciate this. One of the new editing features that you may also be impressed with is the blended view on takeoff and landing where you are able to see both the pilots and pilot eye view combined.

Overall this is a fantastic DVD and perhaps one of best I have seen from Just Planes. - Recommended

Summary/Closing Remarks

Once again, these DVDs were an absolute pleasure to watch and I think anyone who loves aviation will enjoy them. At a cost of $25-30 each they are a bargain. These are perfect for days when you what to see or do something aviation related but also want to enjoy the comforts of home. Just Planes has really stepped up their editing and production of their DVDs and I am sure we will continue to see more innovations in their future products.
