Scenery Cfg. files

Featured Replies

Hi, I removed a scenery from my simulator using the exe. that the author designed. I later went to starr up flight sim.2004 and at the start I am getting error messages in regards to this scenery: scenery error, area 064 is no longer availabe. It also lists 2 other areas. How do I remove these? Thank you,S.

Re-install the scenery to the same folder that it was in before. Start FS and enable this scenery as you did before via the Scenery Library and allow FS to start up. Exit FS. Start FS again, and this time disable the scenery via the Library and allow FS to finish start up. Now exit FS. Start FS again to check that it does indeed function to your liking. If it now works properly, you should be able to physically delete the folder and files for that scenery without using the author's utility. What likely happened is the scenery.cfg file became corrupt when you deleted the scenery before disabling it from FS via the Library. Scenery installed via self-extracting files can be a headache.

Hi,See the post above to fix your problem. From now on, go to the Scenery Library in FS (in Settings from the main menu screen) and remove that Scenery Layer BEFORE removing the scenery files and folders.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
