PHX area request....

Featured Replies

If anyone has USA Roads & could post up a few screenies of a westbound approach to KPHX on 26 or 25L/R during daylight, that would be rather cool of you.If I can be so bold, I would prefer a wideshot on a ~10 mile final (at or around seeli int, abeam Falcon field) & a shortfinal at or around primy int (just past sundevil/ASU) if on 26 final.I don't expect many takers, but thanks all the same.Cheers.

I second that request...I'm also curious to see any shots near where I-10 and Loop 101 meet in the West Valley. That would give an idea on how current the data is, since that part of the Loop 101 was finished back in '00...(h.o.p.--now you know why I wanted you to post your question here :) )-John(KPHX)

x3Would be interesting to see the approach w/ USA Roads.

Yeah, I see how you are :)I'm also curious how the photographic portion of PHX will display (like the 143 & the 153 on the westbound approach); plus I'm trying to keep this thread alive :)Cheers.

Hi,I wouldn't mind trying to accomodate your requests. I'm not familiar with Phoenix though! But I will fly around and just take some general screenshots. I hope you will be able to see what enough that it will answer your query. If someone beats me to it and supplies you with the requested screenies... then great!"I'm trying to keep this thread alive"This thread has not been around long enough to come anywhere near death. ;-)Cheers,Jim

Jim,Thanks a lot, with respect to flying a long westbound final, I would simply fly the (diamondback) DBACK1 star & intercept the 25LR/26 GS at the prescribed int. in that star. That will give you good views of the EAST or WEST valley depending on which direction you wish to land. The star is mainly for arrivals from north/north-eastern corridors like ABQ & DEN & points further. It is also a good east/west approach star to use with respect to assigned landing rwy.I don't have the star on hand, but you can grab it from http://www.airnav.comI don't want to push the friendship here, so knock yourself out either way....Cheers.

Hi,Well, I just went up and took shots. I did a number of them approaching RNWY 26. So I think these might not have everything you wanted to see, but should still give you a good idea of what's there. If you look at the third screenshot here you'll see the BIG tile that the MS Photoreal Scenery tile that surround Phoenix Sky Harbor. You can uncheck these in your scenery library in FS2004, I just have not ever done it. But if you do that might 'uncover' the USA Roads that go underneath that BIG photoreal tile.

WOW!I live in Phoenix. I knew USA Roads wad fantastic, but it's ever so cool to see you own town. I don't have this add-on yet, as my system is getting older (P4 1.8, 512mb, etc.).This was already on my list of must-haves. It just moved up a couple of notches. Thanks for the request, and the pics!

That's it, and I'm really impressed. Makes me want to order a cable modem so I can DL the package. That interchange is only 2 miles east of where I live, and I use it every evening returning from my office.... Thanks for the shot--and btw..., where'd ya get that nice 337?-John

Hi John,Your very welcome for the shot and I'm glad you liked what you saw. :)The Cessna 337 Super SkyMaster is a pretty cool little cucumber from FS-Design Berlin... http://www.fsdesign-berlin.da.ru/ - But I'll tell ya, I had a heck of a time getting it to download. The link is to some other domain, hem.bredband.net, and the file would only come in very sloooow little spurts. And it would timeout. I kept having to canel it and then click on the download link again, and it resumed where it left off at. But for a 1.2 MB file it took quite a while to get it, and I had to keep an eye on it.According to the Readme, it can be uploaded to any freeware site.---------------------------------------------Base Design & base textures: Arik HohmeyerFSDS2 Rework (with FSDS2 2.24 and Aircraft Container Manager):Jonathan R. So if you want you can try and get it from FS-Design Berlin. Or if you wait a couple of days it should be in the Avsim library. By the way, if you fly their L-10 Electra they have updated Flight Dynamics for it... version 1.2. Just a little 8kb file.Cheers,Jim
