For the last 7 or 8 years I have been upgrading my DESKTOP computer every 2 years or so. What I have been doing is buy all the components, case, motherboard, graphics card, memory........etc from a local store, They build it for me. Then I would give them a CLONE of my existing drive which they use to rebuild the new system. That had worked very nicely every single time with no problems whatsoever.

 

NOW: This time around, I decided to do the same thing, except, I would like to use a LAPTOP for the BACKUP/UPGRADE. My question is can it be done? Using practically the same process?
