September 24, 201213 yr I would like a definitive answer from someone at PMDG regarding Service-based Failures. Do you need to save the panel state at the end of each flight in order to see a drop in various fluid levels/experience service-based failures? Or can you simply select to have the failures simulated but started from a "Warm" panel state each flight? I know many people choose to have the default panel state load as a "Ready from engineering" or "Ready from previous flight" format. But I also know that some people save the panel state before exiting FSX and load it into each new flight. I have seen people mention that hydraulic and/or oil gets low eventually but I have not seen this myself. I have Service-based Failures activated on all my liveries. And I can see that the "hours-to-maintenance" are counting down. I just want to know if it is necessary to save the panel state at the end of each flight, and then load it again at the start, to see the failures/long-term use of each livery take effect, or if we can select a static panel state and still take advantage of SBF's.
