Featured Replies

hello everybodyi am installing fs9 once again but have come across the fact that my world.cab file from cd 4 is damaged: is there anybody willing to e mail me this file. I know its large but your help would be very very welcome! my e mail is [email protected] from a cold and rainy texeladam

Have you tried opening the world.cab with an unzipping tool? If not, give that a try. Otherwise, visit MS support for getting a new CD.W. Sieffert

well yes I have tried unzipping this cab file to get to the world scenery and texture fileI realize that it would be daunting and maybe not possible to send such a big file even though I have a good adsl connection but if was to acertain which files were bad would someone be willing to send those?thanks and greetings from hollandadam

Trust me.....its much easier to place a phone call to microsoft support and get them to send you a new CD......they will actually send you all four. Last time that happened to me (FS2002 CD2, I got them to send me the entire thing for free.....I didn't even have to pay S&H (I was lucky). Then I realised that the order they had put in was for the regular edition.....so I got them to change it to the PRO edition. That second guy wondered why they were sending it for free.....but he didn't change anything. A few days later, I had my new CDs.On the other hand, if you can isolate the bad files, and if you're sure that you can get it installed by manually copying them rather than from the CD, then I'm sure someone will probably be willing to send them to you.
