RealScene 2004 Problem

Featured Replies

Hi I just upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP and I'm trying to install Realscene 2004 but having trouble with the installer. The cd uses InstallShield Wizard but that doesn't work so ended up manually installing the mesh and landclass files myself. That worked ok but now I wanted to install the update for it but that uses the same installer which doesn't work for me. Here is a picture of what it says when I try to use the installer. Thanks alot for any help.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/82515.jpg

Several things may be causing the installers not to work. What was the error for the original installer of RealScene; was it the same as above? Are you trying to load the RealScene from a CD?Have you installed all the Windows updates from the MS Windows Updates site? Are you in an administrator's account when trying to load the software? Even if you have WinXP Home, the normal account has to have administrator privileges to load some software. To check your account, press Start, Control Panel, User Accounts, and select your normal user account. If the account doesn't have administrator privileges, reboot your computer to the safe mode. You enter the safe mode by pressing the F8 key after the black DOS screen appears and the normal Windows screen appears. Once you have the DOS selection screen available, select the Safe Mode. Once the safe mode is open, select the Administrator account. Go to the user accounts and grant your user account administrator privileges. Reboot the computer to the normal windows. When you updated, did you also install the MOBO controller chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi, NForce? These drivers should be related to the install problem.W. Sieffert
