Misplaced islands FS9

Featured Replies

LS,

I'm writing to you because of a problem I have with two islands in FS9. Namely Bonaire and Curacao (where I live).

It seems both islands and thus their airports are misplaced within the FS world. When placing my aircraft on the Aerodrome Reference Points (ARP) as published I end up a few hundred feet off to the South of the runway. If only the airport placement was corrected, you would notice that it would not corellate to it's spot on the small island (too far inland). Third party add ons for the two airports built upon the current FS placement and are also wrong. The problem arises when flying FMS based approaches where you end up next to the runway. Because these are based on real life coordinates. Also you'll notice the runway offset on your ND whenever you're on the runway.

My question is, is there a way to say correct the islands position within FS9 or are the sceneries hardcoded deep inside some large bgl file? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Xander Koote

p.s. I attached one pic of the ARP in FS, and the other in google maps. Google maps is right where the ARP is depicted

in Jeppesen.
