October 6, 201213 yr Hello there, I've been flying the NGX for over a year, learning more and more on how to fly the plane it is great! Over time I have started to note some inconsistencies in the way some parts of the plane are simulated. I have picked a very easy fix for you guys at PMDG for SP2 (that is if you want to put it in at all). Here is the problem: In the real NG, there is speed-brake actuator which functions to extend the speed-brakes; after arming the system and landing, the actuators must be retracted and reset. I'm glad that the arming and extending portions have been modeled. The retracting of the speed-brakes when pushing the throttles up also does retract the spoilers, which is great. However, if a pilot were to manually push the speed-brake lever back to retracted position, it would not retract the speed-brake actuators. This would then mean that the speed-brake arm would not function until the actuator has been reset, which is done by pushing the throttles forward. If my text was confusing, then please watch this video to get my gist. Thanks!
October 7, 201213 yr This has been reported before, but whether PMDG will do anything about it in SP2 (if we ever get SP2) is anyone's guess. For most users this isn't an issue as the speedbrake works as they've learned to expect, not how it actually is. As you say it's that not difficult to fix, they just need to model the speedbrake actuator as a separate unit. How that would play when integrated with FSX is anyone's guess, so it might not be included due to that old problem "FSX limitations".
