July 6, 200421 yr I am collecting info etc relating to Croydon Airport which used to be close to London in the UK. The airport was the starting point of several record breaking and historic flights as well as being the home to Imperial Aiways which later became part of British Airways. I would like to ask you if anyone has anything they think may be of use to me. That could be Pics, Maps or maybe you have a memory of it before it was closed. Research going well so far but for the scenery to look as it should be of course you can never have too much data etc. I havent decided the period that the scenery will be shown as but probably late 1930s.Thanks in anticipationAndrew"If it can go wrong it probably will. If it doesn't then turn it off"

July 7, 200421 yr I would just like to say that I'm from Croydon, and the last time I was in the UK I stayed at the Purley Way Hilton!!!One thing I remember though was crossing Purley Way and visiting a building on the old airport side that had various historic photos and maps, etc., in a display in the lobby. I can't remember what that building was; I think there's a hotel on that side called the Airport Hotel...but I don't think it was in there--it was probably the building behind the parked aircraft that I think was the last plane to fly out of there. Well I'm sorry, I'm not being much help beyond suggesting that if you live nearby you'll find some historical displays in that building. I also vaguely remember there being a Croydon Airport Society, or something similar, so I just entered that in Google, and sure enough several interesting links came up. Good luck.(And I hope someone does Kenley aerodrome one of these days! Actually, it's bound to be in Maddox's Battle of Britain sim....)
July 7, 200421 yr Author >(And I hope someone does Kenley aerodrome one of these days! There is a Hawkinge & Lympne package out there too. I forget where though. *sigh* (I thik they were both packaged in Hawkingev2.zip?

July 22, 200421 yr Sounds like there is room for the rebuilding of a number of long gone airfields. Maybe I'll have a go sometime. Busy for at least a few months here but I will remember your postings. All the bestAndrew
