July 11, 200421 yr This is a rather unnatural thing to happen.I sometimes twitch the rudder pedals a bit and the parking brake comes off! Not good.Is there a way to disable this "cancellation" function? Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
July 11, 200421 yr Hi, NO,you cannot change this.At first I thought too that this was wrong, untill I saw an instruction animation program for a B777.Of course the procedure for other aircraft may be different, but here's how setting/releasing the ParkingBrakes works for a real 777:To set the ParkingBrakes:- Press the toebrakes fully.- Pull the ParkingBrakes lever.- Release the toebrake. The toebrakes will spring back a little bit, but remain in nearly full extended position. To release the ParkingBrakes:- Press the toebrakes fully again.- The ParkingBrakes (and lever) are automatically released.- Release the toebrakes.Hence, MS DID make an improvement in FS9 :-), although still not exactly right ..And of course, FS has no controls to keep forcing your pedals in the extended position when the parking brakes are set. Now, if all of this was known to you, but you ment to say:"I sometimes twitch the rudder pedals a bit WITHOUT PRESSING THE TOEBRAKES .......":You THINK you don't press them, but you actually do, or your toebrakes are "jittering" a bit even in the released position, causing FS to see that you press them.Solution for that: apply a little (or more) null-zone to the pedal toebrake axis, via menu Option-COntrols-Sensitivities.Cheers, Rob Barendregt
