Trying to use AFCAD to change parking at gate

Featured Replies

In creating and compiling AFCAD files in ADE, I have found that I see (as expected) FSX indexing the new scenery details on start-up when I add the AFCAD (.BGL) file. However, if I wish to remove the AFCAD, and do so by either renaming or deleting the .BGL file, FSX does not re-index on subsequent start-up, and I note that pieces of the original scenery are no longer present in FSX.

The specific of what I am doing relates to KDEN, gate B33 specifically. I had created an ADE file and compiled it into a folder (with sub-folders of Scenery and Texture) I had created in FSX which is assigned to the scenery layers as an active layer. I had been working on the gate B33 parking radius, and after re-indexing FSX seemed to show what I had created. But when I rename and/or delete the .BGL file in the above folder\scenery structure, FSX does not appear to re-index, and I am missing the tee offsets and taxiway lines from not just this gate, but also other gates at KDEN, and the ground texture of the gate area also is changed to a more basic texture. But when I re-compile the ADE file that I had previously created, FSX re-indexes on startup and I see all of the nice ground texture and tee offsets, etc. Note that this is being done to the FSX default (stock) version of KDEN.

I’m just confused why something that I thought would be so basic as deleting a .BGL file that I created would have this unintended consequence. However, I am definitely a noob when it comes to anything in FSX scenery.

Thanks for any suggestions. Bruce.
