May 10, 200323 yr Hey gang,Does anyone have any information regarding Mesa's new sub "Freedom Air?"Here's what I know so far:--they use CRJ900s--they fly out of PhoenixThat's pretty much it...Mesa's website gives no information on it. America West's timetable shows flights operated by "Freedom Air." So I guess what I'm driving at is that since it is a sub of Mesa, Freedom would use Mesa's call and letter codes...right?And does anyone know how Mesa numbers their flights? I tried chopping off the leading number from the AWE flight number, but I couldn't seem to get them to match up. Anyhoo, thanks for any input.
May 11, 200323 yr it was originally set up by Jonathon Ornstein as a non-union airline designed to break the Mesa Pilots union who were in the process of negotiating their new contract. it brought concessions from the mesa pilots union, however under jets 4 jobs it brought a lot of furloughed cc-air and usair guys back to work (i know 3 going to ground school tomorrow for the CRJ).my understanding is that all new CRJ's @ Mesa are being delivered under Freedom's charter until it merges with Mesa's next year.as far as mesa's call and letter codes i don't know. air midwest is under mesa yet has their own id, etc.
