Saitek X-45 throttle and reverse thrust setup question

Featured Replies

Hello,I just purchased a Saitek X-45 joystick/throttle combo and noticed that the X-45's throttle component has a detents on the throttle axis for idle and afterburner, respectively. Is there anyway I can map FS2004's reverse thrust to the X-45's idle detent setting without using the registered version of FSUPIC?Thank you.

Use the Saitek SST programming software. It is extremely powerful for flight sims. You can map entire button sequences fairly easily with it. It is available from the Saitek USA website. (www.saitekusa.com)I don't believe it is possible from within FS2004.

You can, of course, map a button on the X-45 to "F2" ( that's what I've done)using the microsoft programmer, but I don't know that you could program part of the throttle axis to do that which I think is more of what you are trying to do.If you succeed, would you please post back how you did it?Thanks.Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpghttp://www.globecargo.org/images/VAA_Sen_captain.jpg

Hi Ed,Yah, I'm trying to see if I can create a throttle axis band that would be coincident with the idle detent on the X-45 throttle and then map this idle power detent band to the reverse thrust function of FS2004. I'm playing around with the advanced key mapping settings in pursuit of this with limited success as of this point. I'll let you guys know if I am able to pull it off. Thanks.
