July 19, 200421 yr It is worth the download just to hear those big radial engines. What a beast! Thanks for the articles on flying the plane. Lucked out and greased the approach my first time out. What fun.
July 19, 200421 yr I agree! One has to read those stories to get a real picture of the plane.Amasing! Descending is more like DIVING what a blast to fly :D
July 19, 200421 yr Aerocommanders, Howard and now a new Dash 7 --I'm floored. The flightsim community should bestow a lifetime achievement award to you and your team.ThanksBlairCYOW
July 21, 200421 yr The Bare Metal Cargo and Passenger version upgrades have been uploaded to Avsim and Simviation so far ...Note: The Cargo Model and Textures are upgrades to the original Howard 500 release. It adds a model folder, 2 texture folders (cargo and passenger), and a new aircraft.cfg file. The original release (hw5vc4.zip) is required. Also, the Howard 500 Paint Kit is released at Avsim. Filename is hw5pkit.zip. The layered bare metal paint kit works for all versions of the Howard 500, FS9 and FS2002, passenger and cargo.Neither is showing as of this posting.
July 21, 200421 yr MiltonDo you know of any line in the .cfg that will modify the fuel amount that shows up on the flight planner? By modifying the reference speeds you can get a pretty accurate estimated time en route but I don't know if there is one for fuel burn. The flight planner always comes up with about 350-360 gallons per hour in fuel use.David
July 21, 200421 yr bare metal cargo versions are now up @ SIMAVIATION.http://63.217.28.218/files/1props/hw5c4.zipRegardsDietgerPS. Im off for flying :D Cheers!
July 21, 200421 yr Not a big thing anyway but atleast I had my problems.I hope that helps, read below:In order to fly the aircraft I had to change title entry :I changed "title = Howard 500 - N500HP"to"title = Howard 500 - 105"otherwise my fs9 crashed on start cos the Howard was my default flight but fS2004 couldn't initiate(sp) the plane. At least for me that was a little problem. Anyone?CheersDietger
July 21, 200421 yr No I do not. Maybe someone else has an answer to this one. :-/For planning purposes, the real world pilot uses 200 gph. That's the way I set up the fuel flow, with cruise at 92.5 (times 2).Try changing the reference speeds o econ cruise speed to see what that gives you.cruise_speed = 190max_indicated_speed = 270
July 21, 200421 yr Just for a little creative criticism (or what am I doing wrong?). Are the exterior lights way to dimm or is it just me?Thanks for the excellent freeware Milton!Mauricio
