Quick tip for Faster plane selection

Featured Replies

If, like me, you have a "stable" of planes that you fly regularly, you might be finding it a bit of a pain to select your aircraft from the list that is sorted by manufacturer -- especially when the list is muddled with some add-ons that are listed by the developer. It's also a process that requires a couple of steps, because you also have to select your favorite livery once you've found the plane.I've implemented a workaround for this which works pretty well for me.For all of my favorite planes, I opened the aircraft.cfg and changed the "ui_manufacturer" to "_My Hangar", like this:ui_manufacturer=_My HangarI do this only for my preferred livery (or liveries) in the aircraft.cfg.The underscore causes the "My Hangar" planes to appear first in the alphabetical list. Now when you want to select a plane, you'll get quick access to your favorites in one place.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/84581.jpgOn a troubling note, it does make you realize how much you've spent on add-ons.

Good idea. I wish that FS has the ability to "remember" your most frequent selected aircraft/livery combo. This way you could toggle between the standard way that we select aircraft now, or have your planes listed in a most frequently used form.Tim13
