November 19, 201213 yr I am flying a SWA 737-700 on a KLAS to KRDU sector and in initial climb I got the OVHT/DET light illuminated. After 10 minutes or so of putting my printed manuals to good use I discovered the cause of my problem was a fault in the APU fire detection system. According to the QRH I can no longer run my APU. I don't know what caused this problem, I'm doubtful it's a Service based failure as this is the first flight I have conducted in this repaint. (Chris Hicks Fabtastic New Mexico One). And also the failure menu states there is no active failures. Another Idea I had was that this may be one of those quirks that were implemented into the sim. Or it could be user error (doubtful. Never seen this before and I bought the Ngx on release day) Or it could just be a bug What ever it is. Along with FS2crew and ASE weather I feel like I am really flying the line and experienceing little annoyances along the way. The Ngx is a fantastic simulation and I look forward to all the future PMDG products.
November 19, 201213 yr This is most likely a service-based failure, or a random bug. Although, the service-based failures option isn't located in the failures menu. i7 3770K OC @ 4.4ghz, Asus Z77 Motherboard, Windows 7 Premium, 16G DDR3 Ram, Corsair H 80 Water Cooling
November 19, 201213 yr AFAIK the NGX saves aircraft usage data per aircraft type, not individual liveries or tail numbers. So it probably was a service based failure. "A life is like a garden. November 19, 201213 yr AFAIK the NGX saves aircraft usage data per aircraft type, not individual liveries or tail numbers. So it probably was a service based failure. I'm pretty sure it's saves the usage per tail #. Look in your PMDG/PMDG 737 NGX/Aircraft folder and at the bottom of each .ini file, you will see the time counters for each system. However, that's not to say that the O/P didn't experience a failure. It would be very unlikely, much like winning the lottery I guess, but it is possible. Adam Hill
