GRIB data time stamp?

Featured Replies

Thanks for providing the GRIB Winds Aloft data as a quasi Thanksgiving present, much appreciated. When I first upgraded to 2.60 the GRIB data stamp was November 22nd at 1200 zulu. That was about 3-4 PM Pacific time US. When I closed the sim the GRIB data was current for November 22nd at 1800 zulu at about 11:30pm or so Pacific US.

upgrade to 2.60.1. At 6:02 AM November 23rd Pacific time US the time stamp says November 22nd at 12:00 zulu. Is that referring to 12pm or midnight zulu time? It's current 2pm zulu time, shouldn't the GRIB data have updated by now? I remember reading in the initial GRIB data sticky on FLIGHT1 that it's not updated as often as North America but that the data was generally valid for 4-10 hours. If so, the data is saying it's roughly 24 hours old??

Thanks!

Hi

12:00 zulu is midday.

Before 13:00 zulu today we could only access yesterday's (22nd) files. From 13:00 zulu today (and at the moment) I can access today's (23rd) 00:00 zulu data. I will provide a more comprehensive answer when I have some further information.

Regards

Cheryl

The next beta 2.60.2 will have greatly improved GRIB data access, reducing the download time from minutes to seconds and providing the most up to date and recent forecast data. We will have this beta ready within the next few days.
