Saving Flights as Defaults Problem

Featured Replies

I recently reloaded FS9 back on, but now when I save a situation at the end of the flight (Save Flight menu) and tick the "Save as Default" box, it doesn't make the change in the fs9.cfg "Situation" line. When I restart FS to the "Create a Flight" window, it comes up to an earlier saved flight (which would be the automatic default flight from installation, if I hadn't changed it in other ways - see below). Now, if I go into the "Select Flight" menu (rather than the "Create a Flight" menu), highlight the flight I wanted and THEN select "Save as Default", the new flight will get written to the fs9.cfg "Situation" line. Would anyone know why the box in the Create a Flight menu that says to save as a default flight isn't working? Thanks much :-)Glenn

same herejust started having this problem..steve

Spooky. Sounds like a "time bomb" in FS somewhere? :-hmmm It's annoying, if nothing else.Glenn

I too am experiencing this problem. I am in the process of moving to a new house so I can't look into this just now. Check your add-ons. I don't think this is a problem after a new install. I just did a new install a couple of weeks ago. So far I have only installed Aeroworx B200, Ariane 737ng VCe, Flight1 Piper Meridian, Reality XP gauges (wx500, GNS530, Jetline2. Do we have anything in common?Let me know what you find.

Nope, nothing in common here I'm afraid. I found I had this problem after a new install, and before adding anything else in. I was wondering if it was even related to a video card issue (not sure how that would be though, but anyway, Radeon Pro 9800 256). I was thinking too if there was something in the fs9.cfg that I changed that could be causing the issue. I may look into that as I made quite a few changes in there, as per instructions I found here and elsewhere. I'll let you know if I find anything, but it would have to be the same tweak as you two others have done to be the culprit. Strange. Thanks for the reply.Glenn
