November 26, 201213 yr A few weeks back several of us discussed the merits of working together as groups to produce some projects that would continue to breathe new life into FS9. I have a suggestion... Would some of you be interested in working with me to put together some Retro military AI packages using some of the outstanding new models that have been released over the past few weeks? Examples have included the EE Lightning and Canberra, Mirage III, A4 Skyhawk, Hawker Hunter, Mig 21 and numerous others. All have been done by developers and painters who are committed FS9 people and if there's sufficient interest, there's every likelihood they will continue to release new models and paints. Some tasks we could "divvy up" among ourselves would be putting together schedules, creating period AFCADs and using simple programs like Instant Scenery, providing bases using objects from commonly available libraries. If someone has the F1 Object Maker, we might even be able to do some custom stuff. I think we can do it using objects and paints that have already been released for freeware use so there should be little, if any, need to obtain permissions other than the courtesy of letting particular authors know what we are doing. In addition to creating traffic files, AFCADs and maybe some customized airfield sceneries as well as using ones that have already been released, it would be possible to create some "adventures" or "missions." For example, I have the AlphaSim CH53A in both Israeli and USAF SEA paint schemes and have created scenarios where the player needs to find a particular location and carry out a rescue or medevac or an emergency low level air supply drop using the Captain Sim C130... Anybody interested? My personal interest would be to create a 60-70's era set of packages that would cover NATO, Warsaw Pact and Israeli-Arab air force bases and traffic of that period. I'm also more than willing to work on a Vietnam War package, though there are already some packages available. Cheers Ian

November 26, 201213 yr Author Thanks Bob. But judging by the number of payware military aircraft that are available I think there might be quite a few who are. And if we can do something like this for the military ai crowd, the same principle would work for other projects... Take care Ian
