Problem with AirTrafficFX 4.21

Featured Replies

Five days ago, I purchased AirTrafficFX from Flight1. I immediately had problems with it, and immediately requested help on the appropriate support forum at Flight1. While I was on there, I started reading other support requests about the product that seemed to go back nine months or so, and for which there had been no resolution. I therefore wrote the following on that forum. To date there has not been a single reply to my post, which leaves me somewhat unimpressed. Even an acknowledgement by Flight1 personnel would have been reassuring.

Part of me hates to have to put this on AVSIM for the world to see, but how else does one reach the developer of this program when he apparently does not frequent the official support forum for his product? (Maybe he is on holiday for the past nine months?)

For the record, I love the program itself. I have been using it a lot in the last five days, and the concept is excellent. However, the issues I have raised below stand, and especially annoying is my unreadable ATC text window. That one element has added frustration to all FSX flights now. If I could get that fixed, then I could live with the other issues.

Positive feedback would be appreciated.

Before writing anything else, since purchasing the program a few hours ago, and then having problems, I have been reading a number of support requests on this forum. Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that the developer has jumped the ship. Issues that people brought up way back at the start of 2012 are not resolved, I know because I had one myself.

Flight1, as a retailer, you need to get this guy "with the program" or get the program off your product list. I am sure I speak for every other customer with an unresolved issue in expressing that opinion.

Having said that, I hope the developer proves me wrong and gets back on this forum for I love the concept of the program, even if the execution of that concept is terribly flawed right now.

OK... Issues I have had.

1. The installation does not address the win7 program files (x86) issue. It sets everything up for just program files. This causes crashes and must be addressed. Only by viewing the cfg did I find this and correct it manually. Many people will not think to do that, nor have the experience to do such a thing.

2. The program locks up FSX if other traffic is active in FSX. This must be addressed, or at least advised upon. More and more people have addon traffic, whether by freeware vendors or commercial. Only when I used the menu options to reduce other traffic, thereby freeing up available parking spots could I get the program to work.

3. The big one for me... Upon installing the program, it somehow changed the text in the ATC window. (the one you bring up with ~) Everything in that box, and even the title of the box is completely unreadable now, whether the traffic program is being used or not. I have even rebooted the computer, but to no avail. Great, a major component of FSX that is used hundreds of times in every flight has been rendered useless by something I only intended to use now and again. Having recently rebuilt FSX from scratch after another third party program ruined it, I really do not want to go through that again.

OK, let's get some answers. The clock is ticking, prove to me that this Jerry guy is also still alive and ticking, for other forum posts suggest he has gone bye bye.
