July 27, 200421 yr Ok guys i have had some help and advice already and thought i had the problem licked, but alas no.The problem i am having is that i am only getting the display tabs which include Hardware, where i can set the resolution and other bits and pieces, when i right click the desktop go to settings/advanced 3d tab change any setting and back again, click apply and exit, then fire ms flight 2004 then i have the hardware and other tabs, i can change to what ever i like then go for a fly, but as soon as i exit, start up the sim later all the graphical settings have gone back to default, that is exept for the resolution which stays at the previous setting. To get the graphical settings back i have to run the procedure above all over again.I have deleted the fs9.cfg more times than i have had hot dinners. As you can imagine this is getting to be a right pain, all i want to do is enjoy this great sim, but i cannot. Was running with the 4.7 cats but thougfht this might be the problem so went back to 4.6 cats, used the Ati cat unninstaller then went into safe mode ran driver cleaner.Have reinstalled directx 9.0 bSpecs are Asus A7N8x deluxe, XP2700+@11x200,SLK800 hsf, Corsair 1024MB DDR XMS3200 TwinX (2x512MB) Platinum ,Sapphire Radeon 9800pro+Artic vga,Western digital 80 gig/8mb cache, Seagate 40 gig, Coolermaster ATCs 201 case,Xp Pro sp1.I have no problems running other intense games, even Farcry (which i finished) ran without out a single hitch.I for one cannot think of anything further, so please help.
July 28, 200421 yr Well, I am pretty stumped too, the only thing I can think of that could even remotely cause something like this is having the FS9.cfg file set to read only?Other than that, I aint got a clueCheersDan.
July 28, 200421 yr Nah just checked the file it is not set to read only, guess i will have to keep diggin.
July 28, 200421 yr Ok guys i have solved my problem 100%, it was WindowBlinds 4, it was skinning the sim, i have now set it to exclude fs9, its great i can finaly enjoy the sim.
