Hi I have just purchase the biggest computor out there and want to swtich from FS 9 to FSX. In the past I purchased a lot of FS9 addon and I was wondering which one should I used for the best experience with FSX? Our dear friend Michael that we lost gave me the direction on how to load FS9 however now that we lost him, I was wondering if any one could help me?

 

Here's what I had from Michael for FS9

 

ORDER OF INSTALLATION FOR FS9

 

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FS9 IS INSTALLED INTO THE DEFAULT DIRECTORY WHEN USING XP OR OTHER 32BIT OS THEN…… C:\PROGRAM FILES \MICROSOFT GAMES\FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9

 

WHEN USING XP 64, VISTA 64, WIN 7 64 OS THEN…… C:\PROGRAM FILES (x86) \MICROSOFT GAMES\FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9

 

MAKE SURE THAT THE FS9.1 PATCH (fs91upd.exe) IS PLACED CORRECTLY IN THE FLIGHT SIMULATOR 9 FOLDER AS LISTED ABOVE AND RUN FROM INSIDE THAT FOLDER. DO NOT DELETE AFTER RUNNING THE PATCH

 

FOR USERS ON WIN 7 or VISTA BE SURE TO DISABLE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL (UAC) BEFORE INSTALLING THE SIM (Ask me if you are not sure !!!!!!!)

 

THE FOLLOWING IS THE ORDER OF INSTALLATION:

1) Terrain Mesh i.e. FsGenesis

 

2) Utilities: Any program that has a set-up tool i.e. Ultimate Terrain

 

A) UT Canada/Alaska

B) UT USA

C) UT Europe

D) Flight Environment or REX 1.0 (mandatory)

E) Ground Environment/ GE Pro

F) Active Sky latest Version for fs9 (Unless you are planning on using WideFS then this can be installed at any time)

G) Ultimate Traffic (this is our recommendation for the best Traffic in Fs9) or other traffic program

 

3) Semi-photoreal/photoreal sceneries i.e. FlightZone 01, Flight Zone 02, Megascenery etc.

A) IMPORTANT Always install from the West to the East. West starts at Hawaii and ends in the east at Japan and its outlying islands.

B) REMEMBER TO START AND STOP FLIGHT SIMULATOR AFTER EVERY SCENERY INSTALL

 

4) Sceneries: Airports, cities etc……..

A) IMPORTANT Always install from the West to the East. West starts at Hawaii and ends in the east at Japan and its outlying islands.

B) FS-GS does not support Simflyers Airports or AEU no matter the version.

C) BE CAREFUL OF UK2000 HEATHROW INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!

D) REMEMBER TO START AND STOP FLIGHT SIMULATOR AFTER EVERY SCENERY INSTALL

 

5) Planes

 

You will need the following programs updated and installed: Fs9 Configurator, SCM2004.zip Fs9 Configurator can be found on most flightsim sites by doing a search for the name Ken Salter

This is where most of us started. As for the order of installing addons, I can't comment, other than my FSX runs as well asI would expect it to.

What is Acceleration SDK ? Did you install it and is it in the disk?
