December 14, 201213 yr At first I was suspicious that the extra mem in my new 670 with 4G RAM would not be used, but see below,x-plane 10 can go well beyond the regular 2G cards in no time. It soon climbed to 2482 MB (not shown). Using 3 monitors (2x1920x1200 and 1x1900x1080 the last one is for X-plnae on one monitor)
December 14, 201213 yr that's what I love about xp10, it uses all your hardware to get you flying :good: I have the 670 3gb in my laptop and run xp at max with over 30-50fps with no stutters and no crashes since I bought the sim.
December 14, 201213 yr Author .... I have the 670 3gb ..... I think the 3G is enough I only got the 4G because it was on sale for 405$Cdn, with tax/delv came to 500
December 14, 201213 yr Author And here is an extreme example of the use of more than 8G sysrtem RAM; I have 16G As highlighted, it is OVER 3G VRAM and OVER 10G physical RAM Your looking at two portrait screens and one landscape for x-plane
December 15, 201213 yr Author At Los Angelos, using a converted scenery from a payware, I used the FULL 4+G of VRAM and had a 13+G usage of my physical RAM Frame rates were steady at 25, full scenery (both types), and not a single stutter while flying in between designer towers at 150 mph, loads of road traffic (Chicago setting) That is prob the limit possible, there being no cards with more VRAM that I am aware of

Now VRAM over 3GB is crazy! I'm not sure that's a good thing on itself I take it XPlane X is a 64b app right? EDIT: I can see there in PE that XPlane is actually 32b, and that the virtual memory it's taking up is just shy of 2GB. There's no way it can be using more than that amount of physical memory There's something else hogging your resources there
