News Item: Vertical Reality Simulations (VRS) today released the TacPack - a consumer-based combat modification for Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX). The TacPack initial release requires a pre-existing copy of the VRS Superbug (FSX version).

 

The TacPack for FSX features:

• A/A and A/G weapons with realistic kinematics and ranges, including missiles,ballistic and guided classes lethal to single-player AI and multi-player participants
  
• Destructible objects include and simobject based entity including ships, aircraft anD structures
  
• Experimental, low-level graphic enhancements including Night-vision, FLIR video, proprietary FPS and pre-render limiters
  
• Full A/G and A/A radar simulation utilizing custom drawing routines with full terrain masking
  
• ACMI logging and export to TacView, a popular post-flight visualization tool previously reserved for stand-alone simulations In-game deployable Aircraft Carriers, refueling tankers and drones with live navigation infrastructures and point defense systems
  
• Deployable SAM sites with team-affiliation
  
• Partial and critical damage modeling
  
• Team-based multi-player paradyme with IFF
  
• Proprietary server publishing functions for easily finding other TacPack sessions without Gamespy
  
• 500+ pages of online documentation
  
• An SDK allowing third-party low-level integration is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2013
  

VRS develops high-fidelity combat simulations on the FSX and P3D platforms. VRS products are currently being used for consumer entertainment and commercial location-based enterprises.
