New build for FSX

Featured Replies

Hi,

- I recently joined the forum and time after time I feel like home :P

So I start planning my next build up with major paid add-ons to be added..

And here is what I came up with, due to my limitation in the budget!!

Intel Core i5-2500K (Planning to overclock it to 4.5Ghz) / $195.99

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO (For cooling) / $29.99

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 $119.99

EVGA SuperClocked GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 $229.99

Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600MHz $45.99

Western Digital WD Black 1TB 7200 $89.99

OCZ Fatal1ty 750W $99.99

Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Case $39.99

Sony Optiarc DVD Burner $18.99

Along with the monitor and other stuff for the build -_-

- My question is…

Will this build be able to run FSX smoothly?

With the PMDG 737 NGX and FS2Crew & REX?

If not, how good is it then? and what you recommend?

** I choose that build because of the budget that I can’t go above which is around 800$ :(

/ NOTE: I RAISED THE BUDGET TO 800$ FOR BETTER GPU ACCORDING TO Word Not Allowed ADVICE \

Thank you

Hello and welcome to AVSIM.

I would suggest you check this out, the software guide after, but the hardware guide now, just scroll down a bit: http://#####...hardware-guide/

It will give you an idea what to get to run FSX OK or great.

But that above rig, for 700$, is quite OK and will chew on FSX quite alright.

- Thank you for your fast response… B)

- I went ahead and did all the reading in the guide,

And I certainly found it very helpful -_-

- I was able to change other stuff in the build because of the guide advices.

Including the GPU and bunch of other stuff.

Adding almost $100 more to the budget! * Noted above * :(

Appreciate your help & Thank you again
