Milford Sound, OrbX first Kiwi airport

Featured Replies

Today OrbX release their first airport scenery for new zealand south island, Milford Sound. This is a small GA airport with a tricky approach and wonderful surroundings. Please note that Orbx have also released an update for south island (patch 2) very recently. To get the most out of this scenery you should install this patch first. The patch is over 1 gig and updates many airports on the south island.

The following description is copied from the flightsim store where the scenery is available:

The Eighth Wonder of the World.

Orbx's first NZ airport is in one of New Zealand's most famous tourist destinations. Milford Sound is a fjord in the south west of New Zealand's South Island. It is situated within the Fiordland National Park, Piopiotahi Marine Reserve and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Site. This is another stunning piece of artwork by Andreas Hegi and Heiko Glatthorn and they have created 3 airports for you to enjoy here. Included with Milford Sound Airport is NZMJ Martins Bay and the very tricky T004 Quintin Lodge. A perfect compliment to our award winning New Zealand South Island region, this is a must have for all lovers of GA flying!

  • Ground imagery at 30cm per pixel
  • Fully custom modeled airports and lodges
  • Three airports - NZMF, T004 & NZMJ
  • Demanding approaches for all 3 airfields
  • Ship traffic with authentic models
  • Orcas swiming in the Sound
  • Dense vegetation options for amazing realism
  • Includes most Orbx Flow tech
  • Beautiful landscapes and imagery
  • By Heiko Glatthorn & Andreas Hegi
