FS9 Scenery Images,Steps To Reality (NZ Featured)

Featured Replies

I just reinstalled FS9 and thought I would post some images showing the different steps and results each has towards producing a more realistic looking terrain. All Images are taken departing 23 out of Queenstown New Zealand looking SE (Winter,Clear Skies). Original FS9QTSW.jpgAdding FScene Australia & NZ Winter Textures QTSWFS.jpgAdding a Landclass MyWorld2004 QTSWFSLC.jpgAnd Finally adding Andy Wier's Excellent 76m Mesh. Looks too good to worry about the lake level imho, though a fix would be excellent.QTSWFSLCMESH.jpg

Hi DavidWell the final 76m mesh addition certainly made the difference and the last photo more closely resembles ZQN than any of the others, although I can't recall Lake Wakatipu ever looking so blue. The landclass addition has clearly made a significant difference. Interesting comparison. Thanks

Hey, glad you liked the final pic good to hear from another Kiwi. Know what you mean about the lake colours etc, guess something else we have to put up with. What I find worse is the large amount of brown textures in the North Island terrain for winter. Looks more like a dry summer in Aussie then anywhere in NZ. Something I was hoping that FScene would fix. Guess I'll have to wait for Spring.AKLSE.jpg

Looks Great. Yeah, the Upper North Island resembles the Outback (I'm living in Brisbane at the moment and it looks like my back lawn:-lol) and Andy Weir's mesh is a must have if you intend to fly in NZ.

Howdy,Think you'll find that Christian Stock's NZ150 Mesh, his Lakes and Rivers fix, and his NZ Season's fix will make your NZ experience all the more worthwhile. All three are available from: http://www.massey.ac.nz/%7Eavweb/papers/fl...esign/index.htm
