Can't install FSX on Separate Hard Drive

Recommended Posts

I have recently reformatted my computer (C Drive) in NTFS format (nothing irregular with that as far as I'm aware with Windows Installations.

I have heard that it is best to install Flight Simulator on another hard drive.

I have added another hard drive to the computer (G Drive) and tried to install FSX, but encountered a problem.

It says "you cannot install to the root of the drive"

I have tried installing other games to see if there was a problem with the hard disk but they have gone on no problem.

My computer is a Novatech iForce Intel Core i7 and the specs are:

  • Intel Core i7 2600K Processor
  • 4 x 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Memory
  • Intel 311 20GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
  • 2 x Western Digital Caviar Green Power 1TB 64MB Cache Hard Disk Drive
  • Novatech ATX Gaming Case
  • 22x DVD Writer
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1536MB Graphics Card
  • 750W Gaming PSU
  • Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) Motherboard

Well, you can't install to the "root" of any drive!

Instead, install to G:\FSX or something similar and short!
