August 12, 200421 yr Can anyone help me locate the main aircraft.cfg file of fs2k4?I downloaded the simubuild a340-600s in multi-textures for SIA, LH, South African & CX, but can only use it in the SIA texture. The texture folders for all types are in main folder. I assume that has something to do with making changes in the aircraft.cfg file, which, I donno. Would appreciate any help to unlock all textures, thx in advance!
August 12, 200421 yr Welcome to the forums. If the aircraft installed properly it should have it's own folder in the "Aircraft" folder. The aircraft.cfg is in the simubuild A430 folder. If the texture folders somehow installed in the main FS9 folder try moving them to the A340 folder.Cheers,Greg
August 13, 200421 yr Hey thanx! The aircraft has its own folder in the "Aircraft" folder named a340-600 containing the textures for all four of them in seperate folders. The aircraft.cfg file is also there. Upon running fs9 I only get the SIA livery. ... I'm stuck here!
August 13, 200421 yr The texture files all need to be together in the aircrafta340 folder, or whatever its called. These folders need to be named texture.something, e.g. texture.saa, texture.sia etc etcThe aircraft.cfg file should also be in there together with a .air file and an aircrafta340model folder with 2 files inside. The aircraft.cfg file needs to refer to each of the repaints you have, and it sounds as if this is what is wrong. In the aifcraft.cfg file, you will find something along the lines of:[fltsim=0]title=a340-singaporesim=a340model=a340-rrblahblahtexture=siaatc_airline=singaporeblahblahdescription=singapore airlines A340Copy it and edit the copy it so it says:[fltsim=1]title=a340-south africansim=a340model=a340-rrblahblahtexture=saaatc_airline=springbokblahblahdescription=south african airlines A340etc etcIn other words, copy it, increase the fltsim number by 1,change the title and texture, replace all the airline references and save the file. You may find that the texture folder has a little text file with the required aircraft.cfg text in it, in which case just cut & paste it into aircraft.cfg, making sure to set the fltsim= to the next number.Beware if the aircraft comes with different models e.g. variations with different engine types, or A340-200 and A340-600.In that case, you will either need to put the texture in the right folder (aircrafta340-rr and aircrafta340-cfm may be different aircraft in effect)Alternatively, you may find 2 or more model folders inside one aircraft (say model.a340-rr amd model.a340-cfm folders), in which case adjust the model=a340-rr statement to model=a340-cfm.
August 13, 200421 yr SORRY I SHOULD HAVE SHOWN THE FLTSIM LINE - THIS IS VITALIT MUST BE THERE FOR EACH AIRCRAFT, THERE MUST NOT BE ANY DUPLICATES AND THE FLTSIM NUMBERS MUST BE IN SEQUENCE!!SORRY AGAINIn the aifcraft.cfg file, you will find something along the lines of:[fltsim=0]title=a340-singaporesim=a340model=a340-rrblahblahtexture=siaatc_airline=singaporeblahblahdescription=singapore airlines A340Copy it and edit the copy it so it says:[fltsim=1]title=a340-south africansim=a340model=a340-rrblahblahtexture=saaatc_airline=springbokblahblahdescription=south african airlines A340
August 13, 200421 yr Why is this not working properly? I think I cannot use square brackets, so I will use curly ones. The aircraft.cfg file will contain something like this:{fltsim=0}----------------------these will be square bracketstitle=a340-singaporesim=a340model=a340-rrblahblahtexture=siaatc_airline=singaporeblahblahdescription=singapore airlines A340Copy it and edit the copy it so it says:{fltsim=1}title=a340-south africansim=a340model=a340-rrblahblahtexture=saaatc_airline=springbokblahblahdescription=south african airlines A340i.e. increase the fltsim number by 1 and all the other stuff I said
