February 2, 201313 yr I just upgraded to a new laptop (Sager NP150 with i7-3630 and GT675MX). As part of my configuration of the machine, I specified a 256GB SSD as my C: drive, and a standard 750GB drive as my D: drive. I'm about to install FSX. I remember the conventional wisdom from some time ago was that FSX should be installed on a different drive from the boot drive, but I'm wondering if that should still be the case when the boot is an SSD and the other drive is mechanical. It would seem to me that the speed of a solid-state drive would be a decisive advantage even if it were the boot volume. (There is more than enough space for a full-boat FSX installation along with all my other programs.). Any advice would be more than appreciated. James David Walley Ryzen 7 7700X, 32 GB, RTX 3080
